This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of Part 6 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”). It sets out the steps Work Creative (“Work Creative”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) takes to help ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or our supply chains.

Our commitment

The Act requires UK companies to disclose the actions they take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. While the Act does not mandate specific measures beyond disclosure, Work Creative is committed to operating ethically and responsibly. Consistent with our values as a creative organisation, we adopt a proactive, practical, and common-sense approach that reflects the nature of our work and the partners we collaborate with.

Be aware

Modern slavery and human trafficking are serious crimes that can take many forms, including forced labour, bonded labour, and exploitation. They can exist even where individuals appear to have freedom of movement or employment. Factors such as language barriers, fear of retaliation, or financial dependence may prevent people from speaking out.

All employees and contractors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with what modern slavery is and how it can present itself. Guidance is available from the UK Government’s modern slavery resources.

Keep alert

Everyone at Work Creative has a role to play. We ask our team to remain vigilant within our own operations and when working with or visiting suppliers, freelancers, studios, production partners, and other service providers.

Given the nature of our business, this may include:

  • Working with freelance creatives, production crews, and consultants
  • Engaging third-party suppliers such as printers, production houses, event teams, cleaners, and other contractors
  • Visiting partner or supplier premises

If something does not seem right, trust your judgement and raise the concern.

Accept no excuses

We do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. Convenience, deadlines, or short-term commercial pressures are never an excuse for ignoring concerns. If addressing an issue causes delay or additional cost, we will still take action. Doing the right thing is always the priority.

Report any concern

Anyone working for or with Work Creative is encouraged to report concerns immediately.

Concerns can be raised:

  • With a director, manager, or a member of the leadership team
  • Through Work Creative’s designated HR or legal contact
  • Via any confidential or whistleblowing channel made available by the company

Reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated appropriately. No one will suffer retaliation or adverse treatment for raising a genuine concern in good faith.

Ongoing responsibility

We will continue to review our practices, relationships, and policies to ensure they remain appropriate and effective as our business and supply chain evolve.

This statement applies to all operations of Work Creative and is reviewed annually.
